ABOUT ERNEST CAMERA SHOPPE

About us

For more than 25 years, Ernest Camera Shoppe has been providing the Blue Water Area with quality products and photo finishing. It all began as a simple camera store in 1979 called D & I Camera. In 1984 Terry Ernest purchased the business and began expanding. More camera brand lines were added , then more accesories, and finally a 1-hour Kodak lab followed. As the industry continues to change and grow, Ernest Camera Shoppe has kept pace. A new digital lab now allows customers to either send their picture orders via the internet or bring in their CD or camera card and order their prints at the kiosk at the counter. In only a few minutes customers get REAL photos CUSTOM processed by our Noritsu digital lab. Ernest Camera Shoppe has not lost sight of traditional film customers. Our new lab allows us to crop, increase/decrease contrast, color density, making it the best system ever for making photographic prints.

Noritsu Equipment

Noritsu equipment is the leader in mini-lab technology. This innovative company introduced the first equipment to provide one hour photo finishing to the world in the late 1970???s. The company remains a leader in imaging technology by providing the latest in efficient, dependable, high tech equipment. With their creative use of software and technological alliance with Eastman Kodak, they continue to provide equipment that produces high quality prints to our customers. As we acquire new equipment, we send our technicians to a Noritsu training center. This is to insure consistent and confident operation of our equipment so your prints will have correct color balance, be spot free and delivered when promised.

Our store building is also of special interest. The building was orginally built as Michigan National Bank in the 1950's. The unique architectural dome element sets this building out from all the others. The concrete and limestone building features a Federal "fall-out shelter", self supporting dome and working bank vault!

Just accross the parking lot is our commercial studio, which allows us to photograph large machinery, autos and large groups. Equipped with 16' ceilings and 14' doors on each end, most photography projects are easily accomodated. Give us a call. We can help!
